EESF Safe-T-Rider App

The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF), a non-profit organization with the mission of educating the public on the safe and proper use of elevators, escalators and moving walks, recently announced that it is developing an app based on its Safe-T-Riders children’s program. Educational content for kids featuring animated superhero characters will be delivered via a digital learning platform that will be available on PCs, Macs and mobile devices.

According to EESF, the app will lead young learners through a maze of rider safety challenges and be available in multiple languages. It is geared toward classrooms and will fit well into elementary Safety Week programming. The original delivery system (a website and option to request paper learning packets) will remain in place.

“We are so excited to spread the message of rider safety to our youngest riders in a way that keeps their interest and meets them in the way they learn!” EESF said in a LinkedIn post. The Foundation plans to share information about the app developer, current stage of development and other related announcements soon. Plans are in place to unveil a test version of the app at the United 2024 event in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September.
