Photographers Share a Few of Their Favorite Things
Lagniappe (lan-yap) is a Cajun-French word that means “a little something extra.” It’s used a lot on the U.S. Gulf Coast, from New Orleans to Pensacola (ELEVATOR WORLD headquarters are in Mobile, Alabama, between those two cities). As we are now accepting submissions for EW’s 10th Annual Photo Contest, your author was reminded of lagniappe we received during the 9th annual contest from Toshiba Elevator Middle East engineers and aspiring photographers Mahir Mohamed and Mohammed Mushin, who won first place in the City Skylines & Tall Buildings and Hoistways categories, respectively. Along with their contest entries, the pair shared photos from their portfolios, which show their interests go beyond vertical-transportation equipment. The EW staff enjoyed looking at their fun photographs showing everything from Rolex watches to fluffy animals to, of course, city skylines. Check out a few of them below and, if you’d like to enter our 10th Annual Photo Contest, go to Elevator World Photo Contest through May 31. Contact brad@elevatorworld.com with any questions about the contest, which offers cash prizes and more.
