TKE Sign on North American HQ Test Tower Represents “So Many Milestones”
As construction of the new TK Elevator (TKE) North American headquarters (HQ) in Atlanta continues, the recent addition of the TKE sign to the test tower makes completion that much more of a reality. Sasha Bailey, head of communications for the North America division of TKE, posted on LinkedIn that the sign “represents so many milestones… Our independence. Our dynamic new brand. Our TKE North American HQ.” At a height of 420 ft, the building is the tallest test tower in the Western Hemisphere and will house the company’s Innovation and Qualification Center (IQC), which, according to the Atlanta website, will include a product showroom; presentation, event and experience spaces; and qualification lab. The tower will also be served by three elevator systems: a two-car TWIN system, a high-speed gearless elevator and a freight elevator.
TKE’s North American HQ will also house the 155,000-ft2 Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) and the 80,000-ft2 Business Headquarters (BHQ), which will be across the street from the other buildings. With the move, around 863 news jobs are expected to be added to the Atlanta market. As reported in the ELEVATOR WORLD May 2019 and September 2020 issues, employees started moving to the BHQ in early spring 2019 and over 900 employees will work in all three buildings when the final move occurs. Completion of the full HQ is expected in 2022.
