35-Story Tampa Condo Permit Extensions Applied For
Recent commercial permit extensions applied for may indicate that progress on the 35-story Elevé 61 luxury residential condo tower planned for 858 Channelside Drive in Tampa could happen relatively soon, Florida YIMBY reported on June 5. Developer Mercury Advisors unveiled its plans for the project back in 2018, but there has been little movement since. Orlando-based architectural firm Scott + Cormia designed the tower, which is anticipated to rise 384 ft, towering over surrounding structures. The architectural plans call for a building yielding 303,751 ft2 in total floor area, including residential, garage and retail space and amenities. One of the most notable features of the building will be the vertical white stripes of LED-lit color-changing photometric panels along the core walls. Other choices of materials for the exterior include white and gray smooth stucco finishes. Delvillar LLC, an affiliate company to the developer, applied for the permit extensions. According to the source, the original completion date set for 2022 may no longer be possible and should push to 2023, assuming the project moves forward soon.
