41-Story Apartment Tower Planned in Downtown L.A.

Sculpted glass-wrapped rooftop deck; rendering by Handel Architects

National Real Estate Advisors has filed applications to build a 41-story Handel Architects-designed apartment tower above The Bloc shopping center’s 12-story parking garage at 700 South Flower Street in downtown Los Angeles, LA YIMBY reports. Renderings show a white tower with rounded corners boasting a “sculpted glass rooftop-wrapping outdoor deck” with landscaping by RELM. On offer would be 466 studio to three-bedroom residences, a landscaped amenity deck with a swimming pool on top of the parking garage and parking for 411 vehicles within the existing structure. The city’s Board of Recreation and Parks Commission is now set to consider a provision for open space, and the City Planning Commission must sign off on the project’s requested entitlements, including a transfer of floor area rights.
