Washington, D.C.-based Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) plans to host its 35th annual National Craft Championships (NCC) on March 14 during the ABC Convention 2024 at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Including carpenters and electricians such as those who build elevator shafts and vertical-transportation electrical systems, the competition will bring together more than 190 of the nation’s top craft students and apprentices. Competitors in HVAC, millwrighting, plumbing, welding and more will demonstrate their skills, education and safe work practices to compete for top honors. Highlighting the important role that craft skills play in the construction industry, the NCC features 16 competitions with skills on display in 12 crafts, as well as a team competition with journey-level craft professionals from different trades working to complete a joint project.
