The Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) is calling for suppliers to cast their votes for the Supplier director position available on the CECA Board of Directors by May 22. Three candidates have expressed interest in the Supplier Director position: Ryan Couture of Lyft Surfaces, Mike Hurley of Wurtec and Steve Husband of Dupar Controls. Couture started his career in the elevator industry in 2004 and founded Lyft Surfaces in 2017. Hurley began working for TK Northern Elevator 24 years ago, became Wurtec’s second employee in Canada in 2011 and, most recently, was promoted to general manager of Canada at Wurtec. Husband began his elevator career at Adams Elevator Canada; then, in 2004 he became the first employee of GAL Canada and, most recently, became vice president of business development at Dupar Controls. As per CECA’s Constitution, voting must take place prior to the Annual General Meeting on June 11. Votes may be cast electronically with one vote per Supplier/Dual member company. The results will be announced prior to the Supplier meeting on July 12 at the 51st CECA convention in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
