CECA Offers Update on Collegiate Elevator Programs

Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, have recently begun a new semester of classes, the Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) reports. At Durham, there are currently 95 first-semester students, 60 third-semester students and 20 students out on co-op enrolled in the Elevating Devices program. The apprenticeship program will offer Levels 1, 2 and 3 back-to-back, beginning in October. There are 40 first-semester students and 42 third-semester students in Mohawk’s Elevating Devices program. The apprenticeship program is not running due to lack of interest. Mohawk is seeking at least one additional part-time professor for the winter semester.
