CEDES, a global leader in elevator sensors headquartered in Switzerland, recently announced the acquisition of the VITECTOR portfolio from Netherlands-based FRABA, in turn strengthening CEDES’ position in the industrial door sensor market. VITECTOR products include optical and pneumatic sensing edges, bumpers and photo-eye sensors that meet international safety standards. The products are used in commercial, bus, production machine and train-door applications. Describing VITECTOR as a “healthy business with a clear goal of becoming the No. 1 supplier in the industrial door sensor market,” CEDES said the acquisition promises to further build “this second strategic pillar” — after elevator sensors — of its business. “Thanks to the combined knowhow and additional infrastructure, CEDES can now offer a complete range of proven solutions for industrial door safeguarding and set a strong basis for innovative product development,” the company said.
