CIA To Showcase CANopen Lift at Interlift

The nonprofit CAN in Automation (CiA) association, headquartered in Nuremburg, Germany, plans to exhibit at the interlift trade fair on October 14-17 at Nürnberg Messe in Nuremberg. CiA staff will inform visitors about the current status and planned new features of CiA 417 specifications, also known as CANopen Lift — a communication protocol developed by CiA that enables seamless communication among various elevator components such as doors, drives and indicators. Additionally, the benefits of CANopen Lift plugfests will be explained. Due to low requests by CiA members, no product panels will be held. However, CiA observed, an increasing number of CANopen lift products will be exhibited at the tradeshow. CiA also shared that Italy’s Sicor, which specializes in elevator traction machines, has joined the association.
