The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has released a list of the nearly 800 people planning to attend the CTBUH 2024 International Conference in London and Paris on September 23-27, and it includes many vertical-transportation (VT) experts. Executives from KONE, Schindler and TK Elevator are on the list, as well as representatives of major VT consulting firms. KONE will be sending Padmini Gorthi, head of design, India, and Wolfgang Hofmann, head of Major Projects, DACH region, among many others. Janne Sorsa of Finland’s Elevating Studio and John Stopes of London-based The Vertical-Transportation Studio Ltd. are among consultants who will be coming to the event, themed, “New or Renew: Addressing the Density Dilemma.” Attendance by geographic region reveals 36% coming from Europe and 26% from the Americas, with architects/urban planners/interior designers making up the lion’s share of attendance in terms of background/discipline at 30%.
