CTBUH Announces Renovation, Interior Design Award Winners
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) announced Award of Excellence winners in the renovation and interior design categories on May 3, following announcements of winners in various building height and other categories. Two Manhattan, NYC, towers were recognized in the renovation category: 1271 Avenue of the Americas (recladding and repositioning) and 390 Madison Avenue. TEI Group handled the vertical-transportation contract at 390 Madison and Schindler handled the one at 1271 Avenue of the Americas. Other towers recognized for renovation are 55 Southbank Boulevard in Melbourne, Australia, and Tour de Montreal in Montreal, Canada. Two towers, both in China, were recognized for interior design: Beijing Lize Ping An Finance Centre in Beijing and Sales Gallery of Emerald Palace in Pinghu. Winners will now go on to compete in the next stage of the awards program distinctions during the 2022 CTBUH International Conference in Chicago on November 9-12.
