Deep Metro Station in India With 26 VT Units Nearly Complete

With 95% of the work complete, according to My Pune Pulse, the Maha Metro’s Civil Court interchange station in Pune is expected to open in approximately one month. Quoting a Maha Metro official, the source said the station is served by vertical-transportation (VT) equipment consisting of 18 escalators and eight lifts. At 108.59 ft, the Civil Court station is the deepest in India. Among its notable features is a 95-ft-high ceiling that allows in natural light. According to Maha Metro, the new station will allow passengers traveling from the North-South corridor of Metro Line 1 to switch over to the East-West corridor of Metro Line 2 and the planned Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority elevated line.
