Atlantis The Royal Resort on Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai, U.A.E., was named the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) 2023 Best Tall Building, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), during the organization’s annual international conference in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on October 16-21. The 46-story, 178.1-m-tall tower was developed by Kerzner International and designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. WSP served as consultant for systems including vertical-transportation (VT), with equipment provided by Schindler. The Schindler VT system includes 73 elevators and two escalators serving the 795-room, 17-restaurant resort with notable features including, according to Wikipedia, the world’s largest jellyfish aquarium.
