Two women — a patient and a therapist — were injured after an elevator at a private Ayurveda hospital in Kochi, India, collapsed on July 9, The New Indian Express reports. Fire and Rescue Services personnel rescued the stranded women. Fire and Rescue Services personnel said that it is suspected that the elevator wire rope slipped from its position, causing the cabin to fall. Maradu police registered a case against hospital management after it was found that the elevator was denied a license by the Department of Electrical Inspectorate. The elevator was installed at the two-story building last year. Additionally, four people, including two patients, were trapped in an elevator for approximately 45 min at a hospital in Indore, India, due to a technical glitch, The Times of India reported on July 10.
