Thanks to US$3 million in federal funding announced by U.S. Senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman of Pennsylvania on October 22, Harrisburg International Airport in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, will be getting new escalators. Made possible by the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the funding will also go toward renovating bathrooms throughout the terminal, which Fetterman said “might not be glamorous, but it’s a vital investment in making sure every traveler gets the best experience in our state capital.” Escalator replacement is receiving US$2.4 million from the IIJA’s Airport Terminal Program, with the remainder going toward bathroom renovation. Casey vowed to “keep pushing for investments in our Commonwealth’s infrastructure that improve Pennsylvanians’ travel experiences and boost our economy.”
