The number of escalators serving a redeveloped Visakhapatnam rail station in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, could more than quadruple under a proposal from Division Railway Manager Anup Kumar Satpaty, The Times of India reports. As part of a redevelopment underway, envisioned are 36 two-way escalators in addition to an existing eight escalators. Rail authorities would ensure unidirectional passenger flow.
