Excavation is underway at 589 Fulton Street in downtown Brooklyn, NYC, to make way for The Brook, a 51-story, 600-ft-tall mostly residential tower designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Witkoff and Apollo Global Management, New York YIMBY reports. Scheduled for completion in 2024, The Brook is set to include nearly 600 residential units and 30,000 ft2 of retail, along with 30,000 ft2 of indoor and outdoor residential amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, fitness studios and a dog spa. Stores will be in a three-story, glass-enclosed podium topped by a landscaped outdoor terrace. A formal groundbreaking that included general contractor Suffolk Construction occurred in early June. No permits have been filed yet for the building’s vertical-transportation system.
