Foundation Work Begins on The Reed in Chicago

Foundation work has begun on The Reed, a residential building in South Loop in Chicago, reports Chicago YIMBY. The 41-story tower is the second building in a four-building development known as Southbank and is located at 234 West Polk Street. The tower will offer 224 apartments and 216 condominiums. The eighth floor will offer 15,000 ft2 of amenities, while condominium owners will have access to the second-floor amenities, including a riverside view. Lendlease is the developer and general contractor for The Reed and Perkins + Will is the architect for both the building and the greater Southbank project. The Reed is expected to be complete in 2023.
