Texas-based developer Hines has submitted plans for 77 Beale Street, a 1,225-ft supertall on the former campus of Pacific Gas & Electric Co. in San Francisco, dezeen reports. Incorporating 1.6 million ft2 of office space, restoration of two historic buildings on-site, conversion of an existing office building and a 1.6 million ft2 park, the tower would unseat the 1,100-ft-tall Wilshire Grand in Los Angeles. It would also rise higher than San Francisco’s 1,070-ft-tall Salesforce Tower, also developed by Hines. An architect has not been confirmed, but city leaders have expressed support for the project, with San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie stating, “This is not just about one building.”
