Hitachi Yungtay Elevator Receives 147-Unit MRT Order

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator, the Taiwan-based subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., received an order for 147 elevators and escalators from the Department of Rapid Transit Systems of the Taipei City Government, Hitachi announced on November 28. The units are for 13 stations and one substation along the second phase of the Taipei Rapid Transit System (MRT) Wanda Zhonghe-Shulin Line scheduled for completion in 2031. Hitachi Yungtay Elevator will install 41 large-capacity, machine-room-less elevators with capacities of 1600 kg and 2000 kg and 106 escalators. All elevators will be equipped with earthquake emergency operation. The order is the largest ever for the Hitachi Group in Taiwan, as well as the largest for Hitachi Yungtay Elevator since it was established in 1966. Hitachi Yungtay Elevator intends to continue to pursue “large, high-grade projects providing safe and diverse services.”
