IUEC Local 1 To Recruit 50 Elevator-Escalator Apprentices

The New York State Department of Labor recently announced the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Local 1 of New York and New Jersey will recruit 50 elevator-escalator construction and modernization apprentices in December, silive.com reported in November. Applications may be filled out and submitted at the National Elevator Industry Educational Program website from noon on December 20 through 5 p.m. on December 31. Interested and qualified individuals may apply 24 hours a day throughout the recruitment timeframe or until 1,500 applications are received. The source includes a full list of requirements. There is a US$25 testing fee, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination (not negative COVID-19 test results) is required.
