IUEC Recognizes Safety Stand Down Day on April 28

On April 28, Safety Stand Down Day, members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) took a moment to reflect on the 416 workers who lost their lives on the job and vowed to embrace safety in the workplace. The annual, voluntary event coincides with Workers Memorial Day in the U.S., the National Day of Mourning in Canada, the International Commemoration Day for the Dead and Injured and the World Day for Safety and Health. IUEC General President Frank Christensen shared a video message on the Safety Stand Down website, where additional information, such as the Toll of Neglect and the campaign to save the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, can be found.
