By around the end of this month, JPMorgan Chase’s 1,388-ft-tall, 60-story supertall headquarters is expected to top out at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Manhattan, NY, as thousands of workers from more than 40 local unions work past the fifth and final tier of the structure, designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, New York YIMBY reports. The elevator system will be by Otis, and Jaros, Baum & Bolles is among the consultants. Construction hoists and scaffolding are being provided by Safway Atlantic by BrandSafway Scaffolding Systems, and Banker Steel is manufacturing 93,600 t of recycled steel for the project, which will become the tallest structure in NYC powered by hydroelectric energy. Developed by Tishman Speyer, the 2.5 million-ft2 tower is the first to rise under the 2017 Midtown East Rezoning Plan. With AECOM Tishman serving as general contractor, 270 Park Avenue is scheduled for completion in 2025.
