KONE has been awarded a Gold Medal in the EcoVadis 2024 sustainability assessment, ranking among the top 5% of the more than 130,000 companies evaluated and in the top 1% of its industry — Manufacture of General-Purpose Machinery, KONE announced on December 2. KONE has been assessed by EcoVadis annually since 2018, achieving a gold or higher ranking every year. The sustainability assessment evaluates sustainability performance in four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. KONE observes it helps customers make cities smarter and more sustainable through solutions such as its regenerative EcoDisc® motor and lightweight high-rise hoisting technology UltraRope®. The Finland-based company said it is “raising the bar even higher” with its new strategy Rise that makes sustainability leadership a key part of its growth strategy.
