KONE has won an order to supply a suite of people flow solutions for the new metro line S2 on the Nanjing to Ma’anshan intercity rail in East China. The delivery includes 69 KONE TransitMaster™ 140 escalators along eight stations. Upon opening in 2025, S2 will play a key role in driving further regional economic integration between the Jiangsu Province capital, Nanjing, and the city of Ma’anshan in the neighboring province. By linking two different provinces, the new metro line promises to foster stronger cross-border ties, in addition to the currently operated city buses that serve different cities and towns along the route. The developer of Line S2 is Nanjing Metro Construction Co., and the architectural design was done by JSTI GROUP. KONE booked the order in Q4 of 2023.
