KONE announced on October 5 it has won an order to equip seven new Stockholm Metro Stations with 38 elevators. Including the Sofia Station, which will be the deepest in the Nordics with platforms approximately 10 m below street level, the stations will serve the Blue Line of the ongoing extension of the metro in Sweden. All stations are along the Kungsträdgården-Nacka line and, in addition to Sofia, include Hammarby Kanal, Sickla, Järla, Nacka, Gullmarsplan and Slakthusområdet. The Sofia station will have eight elevators. Booked in the second quarter, the entire order consists of 13 MiniSpaceTM DX and 25 MonoSpace® 700 DX elevators. The main developer is Region Stockholm, with leading architect WSP.
