LESA Presidency Shifts From Tibbitts to Hampson
Presidency at the Lift Engineering Society of Australia (LESA) recently shifted from John Tibbitts to Scott Hampson. Tibbitts decided to leave the position in August for personal reasons, and LESA and Hampson thanked Tibbetts — a lifelong member and LESA founder — for his “wisdom, industry insight and unwavering dedication that has helped shape the society into what it is today.” Upon Tibbett’s departure, the LESA Executive Committee swiftly moved to elect new leadership: President Scott Hampson and Vice President Colin Boswarva, who will continue to lead LESA’s education portfolio. A 38-year vertical-transportation industry veteran, Hampson began his career with a small, family-owned company in Sydney which, through acquisitions, ultimately became Dover. Over the years, Hampson has held senior leadership roles at companies including Honeywell, KONE, Schindler and TK Elevator, contributing to such projects as the Sydney Harbour Casino, Q1 on the Gold Coast, the Western Sydney Airport and Quay Quarter Tower.
