The Virginia division of Metro Elevator recently purchased 2000 East Grace Street in Richmond, a nearly 11,000-ft2 building, for US$1.2 million, Richmond BizSense reports. The deal closed in mid-May. Based out of Charleston, South Carolina, Metro Elevator is a 35-year-old firm that repairs, services and installs elevators. The company expanded into Richmond in early 2022. With both office and warehouse space and access to nearby highways, the building is “exactly” what the company was looking for, according to the source. Approximately eight staff are already operating out of the building, which needs a little sprucing up and TLC, according to Cary Wells, president of Metro Elevator’s Virginia division. The East Grace Street property was previously owned and occupied by 158-year-old boiler sales and service firm E. McLauchlan & Sons.
