Colombo, Sri Lanka-headquartered Aitken Spence Elevators Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rush Housing Ltd. to provide nine Otis Gen2® machine-room-less (MRL) elevators for five residential developments in the Colombo area, The Daily Mirror reports. Aitken Spence is a joint venture (JV) of Aitken Spence PLC and Otis Elevator Co. formed in 1989 to be Sri Lanka’s exclusive Otis distributor. The JV serves more than 95% of Colombo’s high-rise buildings. The new MRLs will be manufactured at Otis’ Hangzhou, China, factory, ensuring adherence to international safety standards. Aitken Spence’s MoU with Rush Housing builds on an existing relationship that saw it deliver more than 15 Otis units to Rush.
