Pulse Wadi, a 600,000-m2, AED12.1-billion (US$3.2-billion) technology and cybersecurity district including multiple towers, has been unveiled on the outskirts of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reports. With a gross floor area of 1.14 million m2, the development will include two “iconic government headquarters, multiple cultural institutions and a vibrant cyber-research community.” The design by LWK + PARTNERS incorporates a green spine and dedicates more than 60% of the site to green space and xeriscape — a style of landscape requiring little or no irrigation. Sustainability will be further emphasized through the incorporation of smart transit systems such as electric vehicles and bicycle paths. Pulse Wadi supports Saudi Arabia’s Visions 2030 aspirations of economic diversity and sustainability.
