NEII Names Director of Safey and Director of Government Affairs

National Elevator Industry, Inc. (NEII) recently named Trent Behr director of safety and Billy Taylor director of government affairs. Prior to joining NEII, Behr served as a project manager for Global Power Technologies — Google. In this role, he led teams and managed the electrical power monitoring systems of mission-critical buildings, including Google’s Southlands Data Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the largest privately owned data center in the world. Prior to that, Behr’s work included overseeing code-enforcement efforts in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, and OSHA compliance for the Union Pacific Railroad. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Nebraska, in political science and psychology, and is working toward a master’s in public administration. Taylor has more than 18 years’ experience in government affairs and communications, serving in various roles in the public and private sectors developing media strategies to influence public policy. As director of Legislative Affairs for the Council of Producers and Distributors of Agrotechnology, he represented more than 70 companies on Capitol Hill. Taylor began his career in Washington, D.C., as part of the government affairs team for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores. He holds a B.A. from Ohio State University and an M.A. from the University of the Arts London. He also served in the British Houses of Parliament as a legislative assistant and press officer for Member of Parliament Sir Simon Hughes.
