The National Health Service (NHS) of Wales, U.K., has renewed its service contract with Otis covering 450 elevators across multiple health facilities across the country for another five years, Otis President, Chair and CEO Judy Marks said during an earnings call on April 24. “Building upon our trusted relationship, we will now modernize 19 elevators at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) in Cardiff,” she said. Opening in 1971, UHW is a 1,080-bed teaching hospital that was Europe’s first fully integrated hospital and medical school. It is the third-largest university hospital in the U.K., and the largest hospital in Wales. NSH Wales has been an Otis customer since 2018.
