A fast-moving Nor’easter, resulting in NYC’s snowiest day in two years, could not stop people from attending the New York Build 2024 Expo on February 11-12 at the Javits Center in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. The annual event included more than 400 exhibitors, and many said patron numbers were high, with larger crowds on the second day — Wednesday. In addition to a rich slate of presentations on sustainable construction, navigating code and the regulatory process, safety and much more, AI tools for construction created a big buzz. Four elevator contractors exhibited: Champion Elevator Corp., Liberty Elevator Corp., Major Elevator and Schindler. The next New York Build is planned on March 12-13, 2025, at the Javits Center. — reported by Matthew Jackson, EW Correspondent
