One Killed When Elevator Cable Snaps in New Delhi

A 50-year-old worker died on December 25 when an elevator cable at an under-renovation factory in New Delhi, India, snapped and the unit fell from the first floor to the basement, The Times of India is among outlets to report. Another worker was injured in the incident, which occurred in the Narela Industrial Area of North Delhi. An official said that both individuals sustained “grievous wounds.” Police are investigating, including to determine whether the incident was caused by negligence.
