Privately owned business conglomerate Al Habtoor Group has announced the launch of the Habtoor Tower to be built in Al Habtoor City on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, Construction Week reports. Set to be completed within 36 months, the Habtoor Tower will become the largest residential building in the world with 1,701 units over a built-up area of 3,517,313 ft2 and 81 floors. Built with sustainability in mind and aiming for LEED Platinum certification, the tower’s “innovative construction technique” will cut carbon emissions in half compared to traditional buildings. Al Habtoor Group received main contractor bids from industry giants from the U.A.E., China, India and Europe, and is in the final stages of selection.
