Otis Appoints Armas as President U.S. and Canada

Otis announced on May 7 it has appointed Joseph Armas to the new role of president, Otis U.S. and Canada, reporting directly to Otis Chair, CEO and President Judy Marks. Armas most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of Otis’ former North America operating unit. He has held multiple leadership roles within Otis during 20 years with the company. A U.S. Army veteran, Armas is described by Marks as a “results-oriented leader with outstanding experience and knowledge of business and industry.” Armas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, an MBA from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and a master’s in public administration from Golden State University in San Francisco. Tracy Embree, who joined Otis as Americas president in 2023, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.
