Otis Electric Elevator Co., a subsidiary of Otis Elevator Co., launched its new, connected Otis Electric 7000 elevator at the 2024 China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 5-10 in Shanghai. Made for both new construction and modernization projects, the elevator boasts a suite of features to maximize safety, reliability and the passenger experience. The Otis Electric 7000 is certified to meet new, more rigorous Chinese elevator safety standards and is equipped with the latest Programmable Electronic Systems in Safety Related Applications for Lifts (PESSRAL) 1 control system, which complies with SIL 3 — the highest safety standard in the industry. Outfitted with an automatic rescue operation feature, the elevator can combine PESSRAL with the Otis ConnectTM Internet of Things digital services platform to access additional functionalities. These include real-time, 24/7 delivery of elevator operating information; detection of entrapped passengers by an in-car, AI-powered camera with automatic alert to the OTISLINE® customer service center; detection of dangerous objects in the cabin; and a pit flood detection system.
