Otis India announced on April 10 it won a contract to install 65 Gen2® Nova elevators manufactured at its Bengaluru, India, factory for the Patna Metro project, the first in the state of Bihar. Otis will supply, install and maintain the units, which will also be equipped with accessibility features for people with reduced mobility. With a planned 26 stations and two lines covering approximately 30 km across the state capital, the Patna Metro is a key component of the Indian government’s high-priority infrastructure initiative. This initiative spans several years and includes a multibillion-dollar investment to expand metro transit systems, airport and railway networks, all of which rely on efficient vertical-transportation systems. “As a proud member of the Make in India initiative, Otis is committed to delivering world-class solutions that are designed and manufactured locally, fostering innovation and job creation in the country,” Otis India President Sebi Joseph said.
