Otis launched its Gen3TM digitally connected elevator in Thailand during a launch event titled “Platform for Possibility” in Bangkok on August 16. Gen3 blends the proven flat-belt technology of the Gen2® elevator with the Otis ONETM Internet of Things digital platform, “providing an exceptional passenger experience with Ambiance aesthetics, PureTM fixtures, eViewTM infotainment and air-purification technology,” Otis observed. Otis Thailand Managing Director Worraphan Khemasingki said smart infrastructure will be critical as Thailand continues to establish more smart cities, and Gen3 will be part of that. As needs change and new technologies emerge, the Gen3 platform allows for seamless integration of future technologies and capabilities, the OEM added. The Otis ONE IoT platform enables remote monitoring and intervention, while cloud-based application programming interfaces enable easy integration with building-management software, autonomous robots and other tools and services.
