Otis President and CEO Judy Marks said on an earnings call on July 23 that the company will modernize 21 elevators at the OneAmerica Tower in Indianapolis, Indiana, expanding its long-term relationship with the customer. Otis provided the original elevators when the tower opened in 1982, modernized them in 2009 and is the current maintenance provider. Otis will upgrade the elevators’ controls, doors, signals and cab finishes. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and meticulously maintained by its owner, OneAmerica Financial Partners, Inc. and management company Cushman & Wakefield, the 38-story, 700,00-ft2 office tower was the tallest building in the state of Indiana from 1982 to 1990 and is currently the second-tallest behind the 48-story Salesforce Tower, which opened in Indianapolis in 1990.
