Otis has been selected to provide 19 elevators and related technology to the new South Niagara Hospital in Niagara Falls, Canada, Otis President, Chair and CEO Judy Marks said during an earnings call on April 24. Niagara Health partner EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare is general contractor on the 12-story, 1.3 million-ft2 facility, which will boast an “infrastructure to accommodate technology and delivery of healthcare services for the future,” according to Niagara Health. The elevator system will be equipped with Otis ONETM, EMS PanoramaTM and autonomous mobile robot/system integration. The hospital is designed to meet the Canada Green Building Council Silver standards, an “important step in becoming the first WELL-certified hospital in Canada.” Opening is anticipated in summer 2028.
