Developers saw a project in Miami move forward after an oversight panel approved permits for construction of a 100-story tower, Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reported in May. The multitowered Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences at 300 Biscayne Boulevard is being developed by Property Markets Group, Greybrook Realty Partners, S2 Development and Mohari Hospitality. The companies issued permits to begin foundation work to contractor Keller North America Inc. Work will involve soil improvements on 43,791 ft2 site, resulting in a 1,049-ft-tall tower for 360 branded luxury residences, plus 205 hotel units. Residents and guests will receive access to views of downtown, Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Waldorf Astoria will offer Signature spaces including a specialty restaurant, indoor/outdoor function spaces and boardrooms; a resort-style pool deck with private cabanas; and a spa and fitness center. The hotel will be managed by Hilton Management Services. Several companies are involved in the project design, with John Moriarty & Associates of Florida Inc. as general contractor.
