For the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) on September 21 and 22 in Paris, the city is offering an opportunity to discover the secrets of the capital’s most emblematic monument: the Eiffel Tower, which is more than 300-m high and has dominated the capital since 1889, Sortir à Paris reports. The 2024 Heritage Days program at the Eiffel Tower invites visitors to discover the machinery of one of its historic elevators. During a guided tour led by a Tower technician and accompanied by a receptionist, guests can discover the workings of this unique piece of heritage, which transports visitors up to the second floor at a height of 115 m, and can enter the technical gallery of the historic elevator machinery on the east pillar. The 30-min guided tour is free of charge and will be conducted exclusively in French, in groups of 15. The free tour is by reservation only, which opens in September.
