PERI Describes Innovative Formwork for Canada’s Tallest Residential Tower
Construction equipment provider PERI Canada recently described how its RCS Climbing Protection Panel System (RCS P) is accelerating construction on phase two of the Pinnacle One Yonge project in Toronto, Canada: SkyTower, which at 105 stories and 345-m tall will be Canada’s tallest residential building. PERI Canada stated that with a building of such height, it is extremely important that solutions are developed to speed the process by automating as much as the formwork as possible. PERI delivered the ACS Core 400 Self-Climbing System to achieve that. For SkyTower, the ACS Core 400 system was selected because it enabled the formwork and working platforms for the entire elevator and stair core to be raised from floor to floor without the use of a tower crane and with a minimum of labor. Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects, the first three phases of Pinnacle One Yonge — in a prominent location overlooking Toronto Harbour — are 65-, 92- and 105-story residential towers.
