Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear joined Prysmian Group leaders on December 6 to welcome a more than US$7-million expansion of its North American headquarters, including the elevator division, in Highland Heights, Kentucky. The 80,000-ft2 office building underwent improvements including new roofing, energy-efficient LED lighting, adjustable workstations to accommodate social distancing, an upgraded fitness center and electric vehicle charging stations. Work began in May 2020, and the pandemic “gave us a chance to sit down and think about what changes we wanted to implement and get to work while the office was empty,” Prysmian Group North America (PGNA) Senior Manager of Facilities Jim Allen said. Prysmian Group employs approximately 400 in Highland Heights and continues to achieve record financial results globally, with the first three quarters of 2022 the best in company history. PGNA CEO Andrea Pirondini said expansions such as this one “create new jobs and train employees to meet the demands of changing market needs.”
