The Schindler CLIMB Lift, with a new design option that enables integration of the lifting platform and crash desk with the structure’s formwork, will be used for the first time in the Middle East at the 60-story The S mixed-use tower on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. Set to begin installation in November, the CLIMB Lift will be used to transport materials and personnel at up to 3 m/s at The S, a US$400 million project developed by Sobha Realty and designed by PNC Architects. Upon completion in 2024, The S will be served by 11 Schindler 7000 SD and three Schindler 5500 elevators. Including the 64-story Elbtower in Hamburg, Germany, marking the first real-life application of the new design option, CLIMB Lift has now been installed more than 170 times since its debut 20 years ago.
