Schmersal Receives First UKCA Certificate From TÜV Rheinland

(l-r) Jörg Eisold of Schmersal accepts the first UKCA certificate from TÜV Rheinland UK Ltd. certifier Gebhard Bouwer.

Schmersal Group, headquartered in Wuppertal, Germany, has been issued the first United Kingdom Conformity Assessment (UKCA) certificate by TÜV Rheinland, a testing body officially recognized by the U.K. government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Schmersal announced on February 22. The certificate is for the testing of AZ300, AZM300 and AZM300-AS solenoid interlocks made by Schmersal in accordance with UKCA requirements. Since Brexit, the new UKCA marking is required for products sold in England, Wales and Scotland. The UKCA marking replaces the CE marking used in the European Union, although the latter is still accepted for registration in the British market until the end of 2022.
