Schumacher Elevator Co. Receives Recognition

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Senate Small Business Committee, named Schumacher Elevator Co. of Bremer County as Small Business of the Week on April 24. The Schumacher Elevator Company has been in Bremer County for 87 years and continues to be a “vital economic driver,” according to the announcement. The company began by designing, building and installing custom lifts for feed bags for a local chicken hatchery and has since grown into a full-service elevator building operation with a global reach and more than 250 employees. The company gives back to the community through scholarships for local high school students and charitable giving. “Quality jobs and a commitment to service drive our local economies, and Schumacher Elevator Co. is a prime example of that. Our Iowa small businesses are the pulse of our communities, and when they provide career opportunities and support the next generation of Iowans, it’s a win-win,” Ernst said. Throughout this Congress, Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
