Daniel Karran, president and CEO of Nexise Manufacturing Co., recently posted a picture on LinkedIn showing a luxurious bronze and porcelain elevator cab. Karran described it as “by far, one of my favorite cabs that Nexise Manufacturing ever built.” In late February, he said the team was nearing the end of the project at the 46-story The Atlas residential building at 66 West 38th Street in Midtown Manhattan, NYC. Nexise Director of Marketing Vanessa Karran tells ELEVATOR WORLD the cab is part of a six-cab new construction project at the building, built in the early 2000s and owned by Gotham. Omega Industries, based in New City, New York, with a field office in the Bronx, served as elevator consultant, Queens-based Nouveau Elevator as maintenance provider and, of course, Nexise as manufacturer. Nexise has a manufacturing facility in Brooklyn, as well as regional offices in Manhattan, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., along with international offices in London and India. About The Atlas job, Vanessa Karran said Nexise manufactured and installed six new cabs featuring ribbed porcelain panels sourced from Italy, woodgrain porcelain, bronze finishes and custom bronze radius panels. The company also installed a floor and ceiling with the same radius as the fluted bronze.
